Your username: Jaxrond
Character's name: Jax Fenris
Character's age: 17
Character's race: Faunus
Character's factions: Beacon
Character's attitude: Jax walks to the beat of her own drum. She is a tomboy with a mischevious and usually cheerful disposition. However, she does have her serious moments. She has experienced a fair amount of prejudice during her time among the humans, but because of her quick wits and refusal to back down, has stood firm in the face of it and never allowed it to deter her. She has been known to step in to defend other Faunis who are being assaulted physically or verbally in order to protect her fellows. Jax has proven to be fiercely loyal and protective of those close to her, a trait that may be connected to her wolf side. She is very crafty and streetwise. While she does not pick fights, she is very anylitical from her time spent on the streets of her home city in Menagerie, and 'knows which way the wind blows'. She is quite adept in judging people's emotions and choosing what to say or do based on the general mood. Though, if she is feeling mischevious, she will do the opposite of what the mood implies.
Jax is charasmatic enough to make friends, but, due to her upbringing, has never really had any. She enjoys talking to people and would love to have some true friends. This, however, would be difficult for her since her time on the street led to her being very careful about trusting others. However, if someone were to earn her trust, she would be more than willing to be friends. When she was at Sanctum, she packed together with some of the other Faunis students and formed a repoir with them, but would not really call them friends. There was constantly a sense of distrust on their part because of her upbringing, which kept them from becoming more than aquaintences.
Jax has a great love of music and is often seen with a pair of headphones and a portable music player, though she refuses to tell anyone where she got it from. She has a tendency to dance down the halls on her way to class in a very carefree manner.
Jax carries a small photo of her father with her, hoping to one day meet him and ask him why he left. This question has haunted her ever since she was little, and she is known to wander into shops and other such places in search of possible information whenever she is in a new area.
Chaaracter's appearance:
(Note: picture is not mine)
Jax has purple hair, cut short in the back and sides, with two long locks in the front. Her eyes are an odd shade of pink with slitted pupils. On top of her head are a pair of black wolf ears. Her canines are slightly longer and sharper than those of a normal human. Jax also has numerous scars on various parts of her body from streetfights in which she was injured, including a light scar that runs diagonally across one side of her neck, where she narrowly missed having her throat cut in one such fight.
Unlike the general reference picture above, she does not wear a necklace or jewelery of any sort. She is often seen wearing tight black pants and a white t-shirt under a dark purple and black striped zip-up half sleeve hoodie. She wears a pair of black shoes that are lightweight and easy to move in.
Weapons: Jax carries a sniper rifle on her back. A retractable bayonet lays along the top of the long barrel. When entering into close range combat, the gun shifts form, collapsing in some places and expanding in others to become a thin bowstaff with the bayonet fixed to one end. This weapon fits with Jax's agility and nimble fighting style. The name of the weapon is Andlat Wyrgen. Jax has proven to be a good fist fighter, able to successfully dodge the blows of much larger men with her superior speed and deliver quick but strong blows to vulnerable points in order to bring her opponent down. This skill, of course, does not work against creatures of Grimm.
Other info: Due to her wolflike side, Jax has a very acute sense of smell. She has also picked up pickpocketing, lockpicking, and other such skills from her time spent on the street.
History:
Jax was born in Menagerie. Her father left her family when she was still very young and she has had no contact with him since. Her mother, grieving the loss, moved in with her elderly mother, bringing her young daughter with her. In order to support the family, Jax's mother was forced to work long hours away from home, resulting in Jax being left much on her own. The family was rather impoverished and lived on a more dangerous side of town.
While her grandmother was a prominant figure in her childhood, the young Faunis took to sneaking out and roaming the streets at night against the elderly woman's wishes. She did not do this to purposefully worry her grandmother or mother, but simply because she was curious as to what the world outside her home was like. Over time, and through numerous misadventures, Jax gained the fearless tomboy demeanor that she possesses in the present time. As she grew older, she became less secretive about her wanderings, relying on her aquiered streetsmarts and contacts to safely manuver the city she lived in. Her wanderings and choice of how she spent her time led to many arguements with her mother, who told her numerous times that instead of picking pockets she should learn some useful skills.
One night as she was sitting with a group of other young Faunis who shared similar stories as hers, she heard one telling stories about Hunters. Being adventurous by nature, this piqued Jax's interest. She drilled her fellow for any and all information he had before returning home in the morning and announcing that she wanted to become a Huntress. Her grandmother, supported the idea. Jax's own mother vehemently opposed it. Jax managed to convince her in the end, telling her mother that it was, after all, something useful that would keep her from pickpocketing.
She enrolled in Sanctum, where she learned the necessary combat skills to set her on her way to becoming a Huntress. Jax proved to be very nimble and quick on her feet from years of street fights and had a bit of an advantage over the sturdents who came in with nothing but the desire to learn. During her time in Sanctum, she constructed her weapon, and proved herself to be of the calibre necessary to be accepted into Beacon Academy.
Role-play sample:
Jax stepped down from the airship, one earbud stuck in her human ear while the other one dangled loosely from its cord. The cord of the earphones trailed down and disappeared into the pocket of her sweatshirt, where they presumably connected to a portable music player of some sort. Her oddly colored eyes wandered the croud that had departed with her, taking in a range of personalities and backgrounds. Her lips moved into a smile, bearing her fanglike eye teeth. She could smell the anxiety, excitement, and, in some cases, annoyance that was given off by her fellows. She, of course, with her adventurous spirit and disposition, was as excited as she had ever been. Her wolf ears twitched and swiveled as the chatter and other noises of the crowd reached her.
This is gonna be fun. I wonder if there's anyone here worth hanging out with...
Even though Jax did not have any friends, she knew the importance of packing together in order to ward off opposition. It had, after all, been necessary in some cases on the street. Someone was less likely to take advantage of a group of kids rather than just one standing alone.
She adjusted the strap that held Andlat Wyrgen, still grinning, as she passed through the main doors of Beacon Academy. Even as she turned in a small circle to take in the new surroundings, a thought plagued her.
Maybe someone here will know something about dad...
Her hand unconsciously drifted toward the strap that secured her bag to her back, where it bumped against her weapon. In one of the pockets, was the photograph of her father, smiling up at the viewer as though he was happily living without his family.
Jax shook the thought off.
Nah, orientation now, information later, she quickly began walking again in order to keep up with the crowd of first year students, ...Or maybe lunch after orientation...I'm pretty hungry.
