Character's name: Maugrim Fenris
Character's age: 38
Character's race: Faunus
Character's factions: White Fang
Character's attitude: Maugrim believes that the White Fang is in the right and that humans have lived at the top of the social ladder for far too long. He follows his orders with an almost fanatical zeal as he believes that he is helping create a world in which his daughter can live without prejudice. He truely loves his daughter and wife and thinks that his leaving to fight for the White Fang was for the best.
Maugrim is a proud man who has an intolerance for failure. He bears himself with all the grace and power of a seasoned warrior. Among his fellows, he is known as a ruthless and cold soldier. When thinking about his family, however, he can be seen smiling softly. His wife also descibed him as gentle and kind in his treatment of her before he left.
Character's appearance:
(Note: picture is not mine)
Maugrim has long black hair, which he keeps pulled back in a decorative holder. The shorter stands often fall about his face, which causes him to look younger than he is. His eyes are silver with slitted pupils. On top of his head are two black wolf ears. His canines are longer than those of a human. His face is also sharper and more defined. He is overall more wolfish in appearance than his daughter, Jax.
Maugrim usually wears armor on his upper half and loose black pants that enable him to move quickly on his feet. His armor is light due to his fighting style, which focuses on dancing nimbly through combat and manuvering his weapon in close combat. His boots are tall, covering his cales, and lightweight, aiding his his movement. In order to hide his identity to an extent, Maugrim wears a white mask with black markings over his eyes when he is on missions.
Weapons: Maugrim weilds a long spear that utilizes Dust. He prefers lightning as it is more accurate than the others. The haft of the spear breaks apart into three segments, which allows Maugrim to use it in an almost whiplike fashion. Each segment is connected by a thin but strong metal wire. The spear itself is made of a silvery metal and is called Varg Mani.
Other info: Maugrim is Jax's missing father for whom she searches. He carries a picture of her and her mother and hopes to one day return to them.
History:
Maugrim was one of the more militant groups of the White Fang even when it was a group of peaceful protesters. He was among those who argued within the ranks for a more violent approach since the peaceful one was not working. He left his family when his daughter was still young, looking to devote his time to working to build the White Fang into what he and his fellows believed it should be. His wife disagreed and told him that his family was more important than his dream. In the end, however, he told her that he was fighting for a world in which their daughter could be free of the trampling of humans, and left.
Through the years, Maugrim worked his way into recognition within the White Fang and became a top operative. He was often sent to assassinate prominant figures, steal dust, and wreak havoc on those the White Fang targeted. He overcame each obstical and mission with a single minded ruthlessness. Every one of them was one more barrier between him and the world he envisioned. A world where his daughter would be safe and free from prejudice. It is because of this ruthlessness that he became famed within the organization and so well-favored by his superiors.
When Maugrim recieved word that his daughter had left home and begun training at Sanctum, he decided that he should approach her when she graduated and attempt to enlist her into the ranks of the White Fang. His attempt was disrupted when he was called away on a mission. When he returned, she had already been enrolled in Beacon and was on her way there. It has become his goal to find her and convince her of the rightness of the cause he serves.
Role-play Sample:
Maugrim moved like a whirlwind, his silver spear shimmering and blurring through the air as he dodged, sliced, and stabbed. The robotic gaurdians of the Dust fell before him like leaves in a the face of a storm. His black hair whipped out behind him as he wove through a stream of gunfire. Extending his arm, he shot one of his opponents down with a bolt of lightning that leapt from the tip of his spear. Sensing another approaching quickly from behind, he whirled, burying the blade in the robot's chest.
The masked man paused, taking stock of his surroundings. A group of five approached quickly from the right, bringing their arms to bear on him. His eyes narrowed and his ears swiveled. Dimly, he could make out the sounds of his fellows in other parts of the Schnee warehouse as they battled their own foes. This barely registered as Maugrim dove into the fray once more, taking a few running steps and planting the blunt end of his spear into the ground. He launched himself into the air, simultaneously pressing a button on the haft of his spear so that it segmented. Using the momentum of his leap, he twisted in midair and brought the bladed segment down into the cranium of one of the robots. He landed nimbly on its sparking body even as it fell, his boots planted in its chest. Then, as its fellows began to open fire, he ducked low and struck again. He wove through the knot, the segmented staff wrapping around his body and lashing out like a snake. Again and again he struck, with every blow he vanquished a barrier that stood between him and his daughter. Between his daughter, and the world he wanted her to live in.
When the last robot fell, Maugrim glanced about to check his surroundings, then hooked the segmented spear onto his belt, where it hung, gleaming silver. His stance visibly relaxed and he reached into a pouch on his opposite hip. From it, he removed a picture of a smiling Faunis woman holding a little girl with purple hair and black wolf ears. She grinned up at the viewer, her eyes shining. As Maugrim looked at the photo, the hard line of his mouth softened.
Soon. Soon I'll come for you and we can make up for all our lost time, my little Jax.
