OOC: If it's all good I'd like to start this off. If not then go ahead and just delete this thread.
Jutus wandered through the halls of Beacon Academy which was filled with students. He felt his hood on his head and it seemed to be serving it's purpose, no one had stopped to mock or cause trouble for him yet. Later the new students, himself included were supposed to head out towards Emerald Forest to start their first test and make teams, somehow. However his thoughts were pointing towards somewhere else, sometimes even escaping his ability to follow what he was thinking. Jutus' thoughts would shift between what had happened to his friends from Signal to where a good spot would be to take a nap outside later. Well whatever the case I'd better meet someone or else I might go the whole year without making any friends, he thought. Jutus suddenly snapped back into reality and was surprised he hadn't run into anyone yet while he was lost in thought. Wow, I'd better pay attention or I might run into the wrong person... But it wasn't long before we was walking, lost in thought again.

Tyerra walked lithely down the hall, her tiger ears twitching slightly. Occasionally she would hear a jeer from one student or another, or feel stares directed at the top of her head. Whenever she spotted them, she just gave them a wide smile and a wave. She often found that when she showed kindness toward someone who didn't trust her, they would eventually relax and come around to her. When they saw that she was just as much a person as she was, they would even come to be friends with her. She was looking for one of the professors to ask him for advice about the upcoming Emerald Forest induction into the academy. She wasn't took afraid of the monsters that lurked in there, but it wouldn't hurt to get some expert advice. She was so intent on her search that she didn't notice when she rammed headlong into another student. "Oh, excuse me!" she said, her ears angled somewhat backwards in surprise. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you. Are you okay?"

Jutus was immediately brought out of his thoughts as he collided with another student. It was so sudden that he was almost knocked off balance. He looked the student over seeing her tiger ears, A faunas, he thought. His ears shifted under his hood and he hoped that no one would notice the slight movement. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine, Are you alright? I'm sorry I should have been watching where I was going," Jutus said. He heard a student make a rude comment and glared in his direction for a brief moment before returning his attention to the faunas girl standing in front of him. Other students began to look at them strangely as if they were watching them for something, "It seems we've attracted an audience," he said under his breath, "That's the last thing I wanted." He smiled and brushed some blond hair away from his eyes. "Perhaps I could make it up to you somehow," Jutus said attempting to make an opportunity for them to leave the hallway that was full of scrutinizing eyes.

Tyerra smiled as the other student assured her that he was all right and asked the same of her. "I'm fine, I should have been watching where I was going, too." She glanced at the guy who said something rude, her ice blue eyes unsurprised. It seemed everyone as looking for a reason to degrade others. She had been hearing such rude comments ever since she moved to Vale over ten years ago. She learned to ignore them for the most part, unlike her feisty little sister. Katran always seemed to take the comments personally. She turned her attention back to the boy she had just run into, having heard him mutter something under his breath. She brushed back a strand of her black and white hair as he offered to make it up to her, and gave him her dazzling smile. "I would like that," she said. He seemed rather nice--nicer than most of the students were when she first met them. She even thought she faintly recognized him. Maybe he was another student from Signal? She couldn't be sure...she' spent so much time the last couple of years worrying over Katran that she hadn't been able to make as many school friends as she would have liked. She paused and motioned for him to continue down the hallway. Her searching for a professor could wait for now. She never liked to just leave a potential new friend hanging.

Jutus smiled again as he started to walk down the hallway leaving his worries about attention being drawn to him behind him. He felt relieved just to be away from so many people watching him. He looked over at the girl and realized that she looked somewhat familiar. Maybe he saw her at Signal, but he couldn't quite remember. In any event she seemed pretty nice, at least she would talk to him. Or at least she would if he had much to say. "So..." he said just loud enough for her to hear. Shyness had tormented him since a young age and no matter how much he tried he just couldn't get over it. "What's your name?" Jutus asked. Suddenly something didn't quite feel right, as if someone was following them. Jutus refrained from turning around, but instead watched the girl's face for any reaction out of the corner of his eye. Occasionally he had similar feelings since he refused to join the White Fang. They were probably watching him, but why? It's not like he was a threat.

There's grinned at the boy, finding his shyness endearing. There was something about a boy who didn't openly flaunt his ego that attracted her. It seemed more honest to her. "Tyerra," she told him. "I'm a new student here, along with my sister." at the mention of Kat, a flicker of concern crossed her face. She always worried about her little sister when she wasn't in her sights. Still, how much trouble could she get into here at Beacon? "So, what about you?" she asked her companion. "What's your name?"

OOC: If there are no objections, I'll jump in. My character is Seth, but Aeris is a big part of his story and she's at Beacon too. I'm wondering if it's possible for me to run two characters at once?
Seth stepped off the airship and onto the pavement of Beacon's main path. He watched the rest of the students exit the airship, then followed behind them, moving at an even pace. He glanced through the crowd. "Where is she?" He glanced to his right as another ship docked, examining the students exiting and joining the others at the front. "She was right here. Hmph. Why'd they have to separate us?" The crowd of student filed into what appeared to the the Assembly Hall. Ignoring the people around him, while being careful to avoid bumping into them, he made his way to the center of the room, near the back. "Seriously, where is she?" He squinted his eyes in frustration. "Of course. She's not a first-year student. She doesn't need to be here."
A man in a green suit paced slowly to a microphone in the center of the stage. "I'll keep this brief," he said, pushing his tinted glasses up to his eyes. "You have travelled-" That was all Seth heard. A moment later, people began filing out of the room. "Wait, what?" He stopped and listened briefly to the crowd.
"I thought we got dorms today?" "Does anyone else have Professor Peach on Mondays?" "Initiation? That doesn't sound good." "Are you kidding? It sounds AWESOME!"
"The woman said go to the ballroom, right?"
"The ballroom." Seth turned and paced out of the room. "I hope she's there. This is getting irritating."

OOC: yes, you may play as many of your own characters at a time as you can handle. Whenever we get enough members/characters to form teams, for the sake of diversity and interaction with other players, I would limit one player's character per team.
Katran growled to herself, slouching in the ballroom. There were way too many humans around, and she just knew they were all staring at her. Her Bengal ears would swivel back in threatening annoyance whenever someone got too close. She had seen a few other Faunus around, but they were shy and quiet. There were probably no White Dang members arpund here. Too many goody two shoes like her sister.

OOC: Sorry this is so short.
Jutus let out a small grin, "I'm Jutus, Jutus Kai. I-it's a pleasure to meet you Tyerra." He saw the flicker of concern cross her face and brushed away his hair that had fell in front of his eyes again. "Is something wrong?" he asked hesitantly. When he asked that he usually got snapped at, but for some reason he felt it was alright to ask her. After all she had been pleasant so far. His ears straightened under his hood when he thought he heard Professor Ozpin's voice. He turned his head slightly and saw a small view screen showing Ozpin walking off the stage. His eyes went wide, "Oh no, it seems we've missed orientation."

Seth stepped through the double doors into the ballroom. It was a wide, elegant room with an extremely high ceiling. The floor was shined to the point that he could almost see his reflection in it, and tables had been placed near the walls with chairs and a candle in the center. The entire room was lit by a huge glass chandelier hanging far above the room. Seth paid little attention to the scene. He was still searching through students. "Is she supposed to be here? This might be another one of those first-year-only meetings." He sighed and slouched against a pillar. A few minutes passed and the blonde woman from the stage walked in, causing the students to fall silent. "First year students," she began. "I-
"Great. She's not here."
---
Aeris walked quickly through the main hall of Beacon's Dormitory wing. Even though she had been a second-year student, she had re-applied as a freshman. As a result, she already knew the rules and the layout, so she skipped the meetings. The posted room assignments would be on the large holographic message board, just before the dorm hallway started. She knew that the rooms wouldn't be assigned until after initiation, when teams had been formed, but she wanted to make sure she got her old room. Aeris rubbed her shoulder and felt the ridges of the scars on her skin. Four straight lines, all in a row, drawn from the front of her shoulder to the base of her shoulder blade in red. At least they didn't hurt, and the muscles beneath her skin were now healed and strong. She reached up and pushed her long, thin black hair away from her eye and sighed.
She passed a few students, who didn't seem to notice. Aeris smiled slightly and waved as she passed each of them. She didn't particularly want to have a conversation, but it always pays off to just be nice to people. If only she could convince Seth of that.

Tyerra shook her head at Jutus' question, giving him a smile to put him at ease. "It's nothing. I was just wondering where my sister was. She's always getting into trouble when I'm not looking." She couldn't stop the frown at that. The trouble she was referring to ran deeper than she cared to admit to anyone. She knew Kat had started hanging around with the wrong crowd when they were at Signal, and she once started a fight with several of the human students. Use of her claws had been revoked for a week because of that, which lead to Kat being exceptionally grumpy. Still, it wasn't exceptionally different from her usual behavior. She glanced up at the screen when her companion mentioned that they had missed orientation. She shook her head disbelieving. "You'd think they would have told us when and where it was when we got off the airship," she complained. Maybe that's where Kat had been. If so, she could catch her up on what she missed. Tyerra could only hope for so much. ~~~~~ Kat twirled her brass knuckles around her forefinger as the blonde instructor started speaking again. Did that woman ever shut up? She tuned the voice out as she looked over the large room, searching for an area that she could claim for herself, since it seemed all the first years would be sleeping here tonight. Maybe she could sleep under the stairs, or better yet, sneak outside.

Jutus nodded his head his dark blue eyes narrowing somewhat annoyed. Then he paused and smiled, "Well... we'd better go find where the rest of the first year students are. Wouldn't want to miss anything important..." He started walking down the hallway still feeling a little annoyed at not being told about the orientation. He turned to face Tyerra after a few feet though somewhat embarrassed, "Uh... I hate to ask, but do you know where they might be?" Jutus felt absolutely silly having to ask directions from someone he just met, but he didn't have any idea whatsoever as to where anything was. Also he had decided to try to make some friends this year, maybe a small misadventure was just what he needed to get to know Tyerra more. On the other hand he couldn't wait to get to where he needed to be and take a nap. Today had been quite draining on him already. Jutus nervously looked at his feet, "That is if you don't mind leading me there... I have an awful sense of direction..."

The assembly eventually over, Seth trudged outside and leaned against the doorframe, watching students file out and chatter excitedly. Somewhere along the lines the woman had gone over which dorms were assigned to whom. "Must have missed that part," he mumbled. He was weighing his options (asking for help was not one of them) when he felt a sharp punch on his shoulder. It knocked him off balance and he collided with another student. --- Aeris smirked. She had submitted her dorm request and it was approved. Seth was no doubt still at the assembly, or he should be if he hadn't left. That was unlikely. Despite his sullen, anti-social personality, he was here by his own will and had a goal fused into his mind. The thought made her smile and rub her shoulder. She caught herself doing it every so often, especially when she thought of Seth and what he looked like when she found him in the Woods. "Not the time" she said to no one. "I'd better grab him before he gets lost. He'd sooner sleep on the pavement than ask for directions."
She trotted over to the ballroom and watched as student began to exit. Finding Seth wasn't difficult; he was standing alone against the doorpost, lost in thought. She weaved through the crowd, slipped to the other side of him and punched him in the shoulder. To her surprise, it knocked him over and into another person. She clapped a hand across her mouth and turned red to keep from laughing.

Tyerra paused and glanced around her, trying to get her bearings. "I heard something on the screen about meeting in the ballroom," she said. She took a few steps toward someone who seemed to be loitering. "Excuse me. Do you happen to know where we can find the ballroom?" she asked him. She felt his eyes settle on her ears, which twitched in response until he pointed. In response to his faintly repulsed expression, she smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "Thank you." She gestured to Jutus and walked down the way she was directed. As she strolled, she continued to talk to him. "I'm usually okay with directions. The problem with being a Faunus is that sometimes when people get to know you better, the start to assume you have better instincts than most humans. The only enhancement I have is night vision, thank you very much." She rolled her eyes, but still smiled. ~~~~~ Kat wandered through the ballroom, looking for an escape route to use later that evening. She didn't like being stuffed in here with so many others all at once for so long. Especially since most of the others were humans. She was considering a high window when she felt someone tackle her to the ground. "Hey!" she called in something between a shriek of surprise and a growl in anger. "Watch what you're doing! Get off me!" Her ears were practically flattened against her head with annoyance.

Jutus nodded a thanks to the boy and began to follow Tyerra. As they walked Jutus listened as she continued to talk. Jutus chuckled slightly and nodded at her comment, "Most understand very little about faunas." He continued to chuckle for a little ways longer. As they passed students in the hallways his eyes watched their gaze as almost all of them began stare at Tyerra's ears as she walked passed. She most be nearly fearless about what others think of her. Or maybe she just doesn't notice, he thought still walking beside her. Soon Jutus saw the double doors that lead to what must have been the ballroom as he recognized some first year students from the airship he had come in on go inside. He stopped just outside the door hearing loud noises on the other side. "Do you hear that? It sounds like there's a commotion on the other side of the door," Jutus said gesturing to the door. He smiled a little, "Seems like Signal all over again..."
