Character's name:
Seth Fairstrife
Character's age:
23
Character's race: Human
Character's factions: Other (other school)
Character's attitude:
Sullen, solitary, generally antisocial and somewhat rude
Character's appearance: Here's a fast sketch of him. The outfit is more or less "Mark One." Colors are Primary: Light grey, Secondary: Dark Blue.
Here's a color version of his face for color reference and to highlight his headphones.
Weapons: Cloud, informally known as The Black Box. It's complicated. Let me attempt to explain.
The Black Box is a large flat-black metal box, about four feet tall, two feet wide and six inches thick. It's extremely heavy and has absolutely no emblems, markings or points of reference at all. To anyone else it would look like nothing but a big metal box.
The Box is, in fact, a spring-open carry case for a thin-blade katana, two thick Buster-style swords, a pair of custom gloves and two large batteries. They are opened by three retracting handles that appear as nearly-invisible circles on the top of the box. Press the circle in and the handle spring out (each is about 8 inches long).
-The center one houses a 4-foot katana that can be drawn out or used as a handle for the entire box, which would look basically like a popsicle.
-The left handle pops the whole left side of the box outwards so the blade can be drawn more smoothly. The sword itself is flat black with a silver blade. It is named "Thunder" (explained below)
-The right handle pops the whole right side of the box outwards so the blade can be drawn more smoothly. The sword itself is flat black with a silver blade. It is named "Lightning" (explained below)
This is why the weapon is named Cloud. Its twin blades are Thunder and Lightning.
The bottom left and right corners of the box open on a hinge to reveal a paid of gloves. The wielder can push his hands into the box straight into the glove to wear them instantly. The left glove is thick and ribbed, allowing it to absorb extreme vibrations. The left is rubber and has circuitry to withstand high voltage.
Thunder: The Thunder Buster has two thick speakers in either side of the handle, along with a large battery slot in one side and three knobs, labeled "V" "B" and "H" for "Volume" "Bass" and "High." It is used to make enormous sound waves that either stun or deafen the enemy (the glove protects the wielder's arm from the shock wave). His headphones double as ear protection, as the blade at max volume could cause his ears to bleed. Bass makes the sound wave stronger and High raises the frequency, giving an enemy headaches, dizziness and even nausea. Thunder's element is sound.
Lightning: The Lightning Buster has an enormous transistor hidden in the body, along with a large battery slot in one side and a trigger on the handle. It causes the blade, to become electrified to intense voltage (the glove protects the wielder from the current). On contact, the blade sends an enormous amount of energy through the enemy's body or weapon (if the weapon is metallic, and all of them are). It can be used to electrify the ground (the wielder has solid rubber-soled boots). Lightning's element is electricity.
Cloud also has a spare set of batteries locked in the base, should one or both of the Busters run out of power.
Basic concept art for you:
Other info: Nothing springs to mind
History: An average student and close friend of Aeris Hart, a 22-year-old female slightly taller and much faster than him (Thin, black eyes, black straight chest-length hair combed to the left across her forehead). She often consoles or encourages him, as he is in a perpetually grumpy mood (a bit like Ren, but more serious and humorless). There may be a reason for his attitude, but it hasn't yet been established.
Role-play Sample:
Aeris found Seth at his usual hideout: the edge of a concrete ledge atop a cathedral, overlooking Vale and the communities within it. He was staring into space, seemingly looking into nothing, but she knew he had something on his mind. Seth was snapped back to reality by a sharp punch to the shoulder. "Agh!" he grunted, more in irritation than pain, although this was nothing new. Aeris often introduced herself by punching him. It was the only thing that got his attention.
"What are you doing here?"
"Just enjoying the view." He flinched as Aeris punched him again.
"Seriously, why are you here?"
"...no reason." That was the best he could come up with. Aeris watched him closely, then sat on the ledge beside him. She knew he had something grim going on in his head, but she wasn't going to drag it out of him. He would talk soon enough. She looked out over the town, following his gaze. A wave of sadness hit her as she realized what he was focused on and she felt a twinge of pain in her right shoulder.
"Seth. You need to let go of that. It was five years ago"
He looked over at her. "I have. I just need to be reminded once in a while."
"Reminded of what?"
He scowled, then a grin spread across his face. "Of why I'm fighting."
Aeris smirked. "That's why I'm fighting too." A few quiet minutes passed. She looked over at his rigid face and punched him again. Seth winced.
"I'd hit you back if you weren't a girl."
"No you wouldn't. I'd kill you."
He didn't even bother turning to look at her. "Wish you were joking."
She punched him one last time. "Wish you'd tell me the truth."
